THAO TEA CO REVIEW

Once upon a time I was a grande skinny vanilla latte with 7 splenda’s kind of girl. Thankfully those days are long gone! I made the switch to tea when I was pregnant with Harper. I recently discovered that not all tea is created equal. In fact many contain toxic pesticides, additives, and GMO’s. Not to mention the toxic bags themselves!

ABOUT THAO TEA CO

I am so thankful to have discovered Thao Tea Co! They specialize in bringing you the most flavorful, natural, 100% organic loose leaf tea. I immediately tossed all my toxic tea and placed an order for the glass tea pot and for the loose leaf tea I chose Spiced Pumpkin and Guava Ginger. It was a rough few days stalking the mail until my package arrived. And it came with a cute handwritten note! A few weeks later I received, Japanese Matcha, Matcha WhiskCitrus MateCantalope Mint and Passion Fruit.

HOW TO MAKE THAO TEA

This was my first encounter with loose leaf tea and it was love at first and second and third steep. This cute tea pot is money! Since they use the whole leaf it can be steeped multiple times, don’t worry directions are on the tin. Basically you get the perfect cup of tea every time. They also have paper tea bags you can purchase or use your device of choice.

SPICED PUMPKIN

Caffeine content-high

I like a bit of caffeine pick me up in the morning, what mom doesn’t! When my package arrived it was in the midst of the pumpkin spice bonanza so the spiced pumpkin was my first pick.

Pumpkins are loaded with antioxidants and beta carotene. Beta carotene is converted to vitamin A in the body and performs many important functions in overall health. According to Ancient Indian philosophy and medicine, the spices in this black tea are considered to be calming and mentally clarifying. This spiced pumpkin black tea boosts both physical and mental health.

GUAVA GINGER

Caffeine content-med

I love how light and decadent this one is!

Guava, also known as the Queen of Fruits, is a great source of vitamin C and is rich in dietary fiber. One guava fruit contains four times the amount of vitamin C than an orange. Ginger, on the other hand, is used in many home remedies to treat colds, nausea, and to prevent motion sickness. Adding fresh fruits and ginger roots will not only enhance the tea flavor, but will also boost its health benefits.

JAPANESE MATCHA & CITRUS MATE

Caffeine content-med & high

I always reach for these two when I feel like my body could use a little tlc.

Traditionally served to royalty, spiritual luminaries, and religious dignitaries, Matcha has been consumed in Japan for almost 1,000 years. Matcha is also known to significantly increase energy without the caffeine ‘jitters,’ improve mental alertness, and increase metabolism. This tea is best prepared with our bamboo whisk. Check out their blog on how to prepare Matcha.

When the citrus fruit was first introduced, it was bitter and inedible unlike the tasty treat that we know it to be today. Rich in Vitamin C, citrus fruits not only make a great thirst quencher, consuming citrus fruits also helps to boost immunity. Adding just a slice of citrus fruit can create a more refreshing taste.

PASSION FRUIT

Caffeine content-none

I only am allotted a little caffeine in the morning since I am still nursing Harper. So this is such a treat in the afternoon when the kids nap, in the evening while I put a face mask on. Really anytime of the day.

The passion fruit is native to subtropical regions of South America. The fruit is a rich source of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and dietary fiber. This delicious fruit can be enjoyed alone when ripe, in a refreshing mid-day drink, or incorporated into countless deserts. Adding passion fruit to your tea will give a very delicious and distinct flavor.

CANTALOPE MINT

Caffeine content-med

I hope you are still reading because I saved the very best for last! This is my absolute favorite. If you are going to try just one tea I recommend starting here. I know why this one is a bestseller and it is included in their Best Seller Gift Set which is available for a limited time only!

Cantaloupe is the ideal summer fruit with its cooling ability attributed to the fact that its weight is 95% water and its sugar content is only 5%. Mint is not only widely used in cooking, but the menthol contained in the mint has the ability to soothe your tummy and help relieve nasal symptoms related to seasonal allergies. Cantaloupe mint tea makes the perfect refreshing as well as soothing tea for any season.

Keep you eye for new flavors that will be released Spring 2016!
