I recently wrote an All About Acne Review where Laurel Blemish Treatment won my Best All Around award! And the more I thought about it the more I realized it really deserves its own post. Recently I have had too much stress, not enough sleep, and wild hormones aka acnes best friend. And boy did it rear its ugly head, and then when my face broke out it made me stress even more. Kind of a vicious cycle really.
Pre-green beauty I would have reached for my Origins Super Spot Remover, acne treatment gel, because I was under the impression by the esthetician/sales girl that this was the best line on the market. One of the ingredients is Phenoxyethanol which happens to be a potential neurotoxin that the FDA said can depress the central nervous system. Yuck. No thank you!
Currently I have an array of green beauty products geared towards acne. And anyone who has had a bad breakout knows you will try it all to get your face back to normal, ASAP! The recently released Laurel Blemish Treatment is a new, and now permanent, addition to my collection.
* Black Cumin Seed Oil – antibacterial, antifungal, restores acid mantle
* Tamanu Oil – contains high amounts of vitamin A, is ideal for scar prevention, highly anti-inflammatory and antibacterial
* Thyme – more effective than prescription medications for acne because it eliminates bacteria imbalance without harming the skin’s delicate microbiome
* Blue Chamomile – reduces redness and inflammation, calms the mind and skin
* Helichrysum – heals damaged skin on a cellular level, reduces and prevents scarring
Our Blemish Treatment is a very unique three in one product, which is designed to address acne and breakouts in several different ways: by effectively healing and treating the breakout, by reducing stress, and by energetically supporting self concern. All plants were carefully chosen to address inflammation, create a healthy flora/microbe balance, and prevent scarring.
This medicinal Blemish Treatment packs a powerful punch, starting with its two base oils of Black Cumin and Tamanu – two oils historically and clinically used for their treatment of acne and inflammation – both with zero tolerance for an imbalanced microbiome. The essential oils in this treatment not only physically stop breakouts in their tracks, like Thyme which has been proven to be more effective at treating acne than Benzoyl Peroxide without harming healthy skin flora, but also aromatically reduce stress levels and encourage the pituitary gland to balance hormone states throughout the body. Stress affects all hormone levels, and it is essential to manage stress in order to maintain healthy skin. The other essential oils in this formula, Lavender and Moroccan Blue Chamomile will gently lull you into a state of calm, as well as calm your skin, and Helichrysum is a powerful scar reducer which will also help prevent breakouts in the first place, making a more timely impression on your skin. Lastly, it’s important to energetically embrace any challenges you (or your skin) are currently facing. We chose plants that encourage self love and self acceptance throughout the healing process.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I seriously love everything Laurel. She recently posted a MASK picture to her Instagram, of some pretty stunning facial masks. Brighten, Antioxidant, Detox, Gentle and Almond Grain. I already have and love the Antioxidant, it was part of my Winter Radiance Collection. So I placed an order through Aurora Beauty‘s sample program for the other masks and I can’t wait to try them!!! It should be here any day now. So keep an eye out on my Instagram feed!
Ah. you totally changed my mind about getting the Moss Zen Physic Intensif. How would you say the two compare?

They both are amazing products! If you have cystic acne I would say Zen Physic would be the best fit. It is a strong product all around from scent to results. If you have sensitive skin, are sensitive to scents or have stress related or hormonal related outbreaks I would say Laurel Blemish Treatment would be the best fit. You honestly can’t go wrong with either. If you have more questions that I can answer to help you pick please don’t hesitate to ask!
